The Proenza Schouler designers share their new fragrance Arizona with Angelenos at an intimate luncheon.

It was a true downpour in Los Angeles yesterday, but the setting, at a known art collector’s private residence in Beverly Hills, was perfection. An intimate luncheon, co-hosted by Vanity Fair, took place here to celebrate the launch of Arizona, a new fragrance by the American designing duo, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, who were excited to share their new scent with some L.A. friends.
“We almost didn’t make it out here because we got to the airport so late, and we had all this luggage!” McCollough confessed as Hernandez added, “and we also brought the rain with us.” No matter, everyone showed, fans and friends alike, who stayed for a while catching up with the East Coast-based designers. Los Angeles staples in attendance included Emma Roberts, Rachel Zoe, Karolina Kurkova, Martha Hunt, and many more, including the worldly man-about-town Derek Blasberg.Taking advantage of a rare quiet moment, I got Jack and Lazaro to play a “one-word” association game, using everything from “freedom” to the very name of their new fragrance, Arizona.
